Description
The Development of a Safer Schools Program in Mozambique was designed to help the country’s government integrate risk considerations into school construction processes and investments to strengthen the resilience of school buildings. It supported the government in assessing the natural disaster environment and finding a balance between the construction of new, safer school infrastructure and the retrofitting of existing schools.
Mozambique
Mozambique continues on the slow growth trajectory that followed an economic crisis in 2016. Macroeconomic conditions are improving in the low-income country, but economic performance has yet to revert to pre-crisis levels. About 70 percent of the country’s population of 29.4 million live and work in rural areas.
