Colombia
As an upper-middle-income country, Colombia is recognized as being at the frontline of disaster risk management policies in Latin America. The country has high exposure to natural hazards that include coastal and river flooding, earthquakes, landslides, and volcanoes, and, despite the progress it has made at the national level, challenges remain with regard to increasing capacity subnationally, where local governments lead territorial planning and social infrastructure management.
